If you are in Sanders county it's always a good idea to stop by Elk Lake. Grouse Creek is a gorgeous stream that is worth visiting, and Elk Lake is a wonderful place to visit for more than one day, Lake Creek Campground is a wonderful place to camp nearby. These mountains rock, just look at all the cool things to do in the Cabinet Mountains. Good hiking is available along the Elk Mountain Trail, and a splendid place for whitewater paddling is Vermilion River. One

For the period of the summertime here at Elk Lake, high temperatures usually get into the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's.
High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's while Elk Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's. The Cabinet Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin'
a glorious time here at Elk Lake. Miners Gulch is in the vicinity of Elk Lake and is a great place; you can go for a hike on the Allen Peak Trail.
