Elk Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. This lake is so wonderful. Soar down the rapids of Big Sand Creek in a kayak; the slopes of Lost Trail are so inviting noone can resist. If the weather is tremendous here at Elk Lake, you can go for a hike along the North Route Of Old Nez Perce Trail, and a lake nearby is Lake Capitan. Elk Lake gets a normal amount of rain; the month with most of the snow is January, and July meanwhile is the driest

There's so much to do here at Elk Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Schumaker Campground is a perfect site for that; if you come at the right time of year, White Sand Creek offers some fine whitewater. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors cool stuff the Bitterroot Range has to offer. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Elk Lake has to offer, you can camp at Bear Creek Pass Campground, and there's some flowing water | |
