Elk Lake is one of the lakes here in the Bitterroot Range. So much fun stuff in the Bitterroot Range, just amazing. White Sand Creek has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by, and don't leave Elk Lake without first going for a hike along the Trapper Peak Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Best Western Hamilton Inn is a great choice, and magnificent hiking is available along the North Route Of Old Nez       Perce Trail. Lookout Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to; in case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Big Sand Creek. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Elk Lake. The slopes of Lost Trail are so inviting nobody can resist, and why not camp at Schumaker Campground if you're here at Elk Lake. Elk Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rain; throughout the month                  of January you get the most snow around here while July is commonly the driest month. Take a side tour to Capitan Creek, and a tremendous location to camp here at Elk Lake is Bear Creek Pass Campground. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things in the Bitterroot Range. If you get bored of Elk Lake, you could also explore nearby Hackney Lake, and there's tremendous hiking along the Ward Mountain Trail. Throughout the summertime highs here at Elk Lake reach the 80's while overnight lows are regularly in the 40's.
