Elk Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Around Elk Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is February. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Poacher Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Boulder River. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Elk Lake.

There's no way someone can get bored here in the Absaroka Range. If the weather is brilliant here at Elk Lake, you can go for a hike along the Coyote Creek Trail; there are some nice whitewater spots on Boulder River. This lake is so wonderful. A nice site to camp here at Elk Lake is Hells Canyon Campground; if you need a location to stay Livingston Super 8 Motel is a nice choice. Elk Lake is one of the lakes here in the Absaroka Range.
