In Montana there are many beautiful lakes, Elk Lake is one of them. You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Elk Lake; Upper Granite Loop Trail is a nice local trail, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Granite Loop Trail. A lake nearby is East Rosebud Lake, and the skiing at Red Lodge Mountain is great. Elk Lake is one of the lakes here in the Absaroka Range.

| | is painless. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Absaroka Range has to offer. There's whitewater on Rosebud Creek - West for all you thrill seekers; there's some flowing water nearby, Arch Creek is a stream you can take a look at while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Emerald Lake Campground is a wonderful campground here, and there are some brilliant whitewater spots on Rosebud Creek - East.

along the Copeland Lake Trail; if you came for an overnight stay East Rosebud Campground is a good location to camp. Summertime highs at Elk Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's while overnight lows are commonly in the 30's. Throughout
the winter the highs are generally in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Elk Lake are in the 0's. Elk Lake gets a normal amount of annual rain; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain while October is commonly the driest month.
