All through the days of summer at Elk Lake temperatures are generally in the 70's while night lows are commonly in the 30's. Throughout the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Elk Lake. Arch Creek is a striking stream that is worth checking out; there's great hiking along the Copeland Lake Trail. From a rainfall point of view Elk Lake is a pretty common site; June is the       wettest month with most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. So much cool stuff right next door to Elk Lake, absolutely amazing. Camping at East Rosebud Campground is always a great experience, and you can run the rapids of Rosebud Creek - East. This lake is so wonderful. A fine place to camp here at Elk Lake is Emerald Lake Campground, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Granite Loop Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Absaroka                  Range. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Elk Lake; Upper Granite Loop Trail is a nice local trail, and not far from Elk Lake you'll discover Snow Lakes which is a pretty lake. Elk Lake is a beautiful lake in the Absaroka Range. All the outdoors entertaining things in the Absaroka Range will keep you coming back again and again. Head up to Red Lodge Mountain and strap some skis to your feet.
