Montana has many beautiful lakes and Elbow Lake is one of them. Having a wonderful time in the Absaroka Range is easy. Good hiking is available along the Highland Trail; camping at Livingston KOA is always a pleasant experience. For the period of the long summer days highs here at Elbow Lake get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 30's. During the winter highs are in the 30's, and night lows at Elbow Lake during the wintertime

| | ordinarily drop into the 0's. Elbow Lake is a good spot of common rain; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is February.
This lake is one of the great places here in the Absaroka Range. Mount Cowen is wonderful and can be seen from Elbow Lake, and Elbow Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Snowbank Campground is a great local campground. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. | |

Don't leave Elbow Lake without first going for a hike along the Sidehill Trail.
There's nice hiking along the Pyramid Trail, and a wonderful close by hotel is Livingston Super 8 Motel. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Boulder River is so much fun; Comfort Inn Livingston is a brilliant place to get some rest.
