     A quick spree to Lost Horse Creek right next door to Elbow Lake is a nice idea, and going for a hike on the Pyramid Pass Trail is always a magnificent adventure. Camping is available at Russell Gates Memorial Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Blackfoot River, and delightful hiking is available along the Dunham Trail. Not much rainfall falls here at Elbow Lake; all through the month of January you get the most snow around  
   here, and the driest of the months is July.
And that's not all you can do here at Elbow Lake. Go for a hike on the Blackfoot Divide Trail, and obviously, this is a fine neighborhood for people who like lakes, Harpers Lake is a lake in the neighborhood. Camping at Salmon Lake Campground is always a great experience, and most likely you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Harpers Lake is just a very short distance away.                here at Elbow Lake get into the 80's with nighttime lows in the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's while Elbow Lake night low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 0's.
One of the overriding traits of the surroundings of Elbow Lake is Boyd Mountain; since you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Missoula.
