Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Doney Lake dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. Not far from Doney Lake, you'll       discover Kleinschmidt Lake which is a stunning lake, and camping at Monture Creek Campground is always a good experience. At Doney Lake you don’t see much precipitation; January is when you get the most snow here, and the driest of the months is July. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Lewis Range. Visit Spring Creek if you're here at Doney Lake, and if you came to camp Big Nelson Campground is a fine site to do that. This lake is one                  of the great places here in the Lewis Range. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the McCabe Lake Creek Trail, and in case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Blackfoot River. So much cool stuff in the Lewis Range, just inspiring.
