This lake is located in the wonderful Bitterroot Range. Around Dollar Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; all through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and July is the month with the least moisture. Going for a hike on the Castle Rock Trail is always a nice adventure; while you're here, you could also check out wonderful Lake of the Rocks. This lake is so wonderful. There is a wonderful       hiking trail right next door to Dollar Lake called the Old Nez Perce Indian Trail, and camping at Little West Fork Campground is always a great experience. If you want a fine time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Dollar Lake. A good nearby hotel is Best Western Hamilton Inn. Through the months of summer here at Dollar Lake, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's.                  The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Dollar Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Lost Trail, and nearby you stumble on the Trapper Peak Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. You absolutely should like the Bitterroot Range.
