Montana has many beautiful lakes and Dog Lake is one of them. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Dog Lake with night lows in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Dog Lake. If the weather is tremendous here at Dog Lake, you can go for a hike along the Fort Steele Trail, and a pleasant journey to McCabe Meadow is a good way to spend an afternoon.

| | Dry warm beds await you at Kandahar Lodge; Sunday Creek is a delightful whitewater spot nearby. Just can't get enough of Dog Lake. You can run the rapids of Stillwater River right next door to Dog Lake, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Lagoni Lake. Dog Lake gets very little precipitation; the month with most of the rain is June while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to, and a fine place to camp here at Dog Lake is Upper Stillwater Campground. Big Mountain has good slopes and a friendly staff, and nearby you come across the Tally Mountain Billy
Creek Trail which is a perfect hiking trail. Camping at Dog Creek Campground is always a wonderful experience, and the Ralph Thayer Memorial Trail is a perfect hiking trail close by.
This lake is so wonderful. Kristianna Mountain Homes is a great site to get some rest, and Dog Mountain is a peak you can catch a glimpse of from Dog Lake.
