    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Montana you can check out Diamond Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Gallatin River offers some fine whitewater, and a good nearby hotel is Arrowhead. Good hiking is available along the Wapiti Creek Trail, and after a long day outdoors Beaverhead is a great spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Moonlight Basin since you're here;  
   of course, this is a great area for folks who like lakes, Summit Lake is a lake in the neighborhood.
This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Castle Rock Inn is a perfect site to camp, and there are plenty of folks from Bozeman here at Diamond Lake. What would winter be without some skiing at Big Sky, and Elkhorn is a delightful local campground.
Diamond Lake gets very little rain; May is the month that gets the most rain while
 
               February is ordinarily the driest month. Diamond Lake in fact is in the middle of a scenic outdoors paradise. The top of Gallatin Peak is easily observed from Diamond Lake, and going for a hike on the Eldridge Trail is always a tremendous adventure. Nearby lakes? Sure, Chilled Lakes is right next door to Diamond Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Divide Trail.
Through the summertime months highs here at Diamond Lake reach the 80's, and the overnight is a tad chillier of course, frequently in the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Diamond Lake fall into the 10's.
