The beauty of Desolation Lake attracts many people from all around. This lake is one of the great places here in the Absaroka Range. Desolation Lake gets a common amount of annual precipitation; June is when you get the most rain here, and October on the other hand is the driest. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Absaroka Range.
Summertime at Desolation Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's.

| | During the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 30's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Desolation Lake plunge into the 0's. Don't leave Desolation Lake without first going for a hike along the Copeland Lake Trail, and whitewater paddling is good on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River. This lake is so wonderful. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Desolation Lake. Camping at Lake Creek Campground is always a great experience, and the top of Crazy Mountain is easily seen
from Desolation Lake. Good hiking is available along the Lake Reno Trail; you're in all probability keen on lakes, Anchor Lake is one of those close by. That right there is loads of amusing things already but it goes on, the Absaroka
Range has it all. There are glorious places to explore along the Crazy Mountain Trail, and Rosebud Creek - West has a splendid whitewater paddling spot close by.
