A visit to Crystal Lake is always a good idea. Through the warm months highs here at Crystal Lake reach the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Crystal Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. Do check out Rudie Lake near Crystal Lake, it's a pretty lake; if you came to camp Silver Dollar Inn Campground is a perfect spot to do that. Crystal Lake

Crystal Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Lintz Campground is a magnificent local campground, and if you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - St. Regis is a good choice. Crystal Lake gets a normal amount of annual rain; January is the month that gets the most snow while July is regularly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Clear Lake; the panorama of scenic McGee Peak is fine. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff in the Bitterroot Range will keep you coming back many times. Paddling on St. Joe River is so much fun, and Lookout Pass is a fine local ski
area. And if that's not enough, there's heaps more to do in close proximity to Crystal Lake. There's pleasant hiking along the Storm Peak Trail.

1935. The local ski pioneers chose Lookout Pass because of the abundant snowfall and excellent snow quality which they could access by jumping on the Northern Pacific railcars as they proceeded east from the mining towns of Wallace and Mullan, Idaho.
