An average amount of precipitation falls at Crescent Lake; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and July is when it's the driest. Good hiking is available along the Moose Peak Trail, and Willow Creek Campground is a good local campground. A lovely lake like Upper Fishtrap Lake next to Crescent Lake is a tremendous spot to take a look at, and you can run the rapids of Vermilion River. This lake       is so wonderful. Jefferson Meadows is a good site to check out; why not camp at Fishtrap Campground since you're here at Crescent Lake. You truly must go for the Cabinet Mountains. Do check out Whitney Lake near Crescent Lake, it's a charming lake; don't leave Crescent Lake without first going for a hike along the Thompson River Mount Headley Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Cabinet Mountains. So many enjoyable things to do here at                  Crescent Lake, too good to be true. There are great locations to explore along the West Fork Fishtrap Trail, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Mantrap Fork. Summertime highs at Crescent Lake typically tend to be in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 40's. Through the winter highs are generally in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Crescent Lake temperatures drop to the 10's. Man, is there a load of enjoyable stuff to do in the Cabinet Mountains.
