Crater Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Lakes? Sure, Arden Lake is in the neighborhood, and dry warm beds await you at Big Sky Resort. On a great day at Crater Lake you can take a hike along the Pole Gulch Trail, and camping is available at Palace Butte Campground. Through the summertime, highs commonly are in the 80's at Crater Lake while night lows are regularly in the 50's. Highs all through the winter are mostly in the 30's, and

| | after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Crater Lake fall into the 10's.
The snow is tremendous at Moonlight Basin, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Gallatin River. Crater Lake is pretty dried out frequently; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is when it's the driest. Bridger Bowl offers a very diverse ski experience with the following ratings: 20% beginner, 30% intermediate, 20% advance and 30% extreme. Incredible expert only skiing is available off Bridger's new Schlasman's Chairlift and on the renowned ''Ridge.'' Skiers and snowboarders who wish to ride the new lift or access this terrain, collectively known as Ridge Terrain, must have an avalanche transceiver (457 kHz). It is strongly recommended to have a partner, a shovel and expert skiing abilities in addition to knowledge of the terrain before venturing into the area which will have no hazard markings, no grooming and no marked trails.
