Do stop by Cradle Lake while you're in this part of Montana. This lake is so wonderful. So many enjoyable things in the Absaroka Range, just remarkable. There's so much to do here at Cradle Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Fox Creek Campground is a good place for that, and dry warm beds await you at Big Moose Resort. Yep, outdoors enjoyable stuff to do are in fact plentiful here at Cradle Lake. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Cradle

| | Lake has to offer, you can camp at Crazy Creek Campground, and you can run the rapids of Clarks Fork Yellowstone.
Throughout the summer highs here at Cradle Lake reach the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Cradle Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Cradle Lake; Crazy Lakes Trail is a glorious local trail, and you're in all probability
into lakes, Canyon Lake is one of those close by. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Absaroka Range. Don't leave Cradle Lake without first going for a hike along the Crazy Mountain Trail, and if you like skiing,
you're in luck; Red Lodge Mountain is rather near. This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Lake Reno Trail, and you obtain a tremendous vista of Bald Knob from here.
From a precipitation point of view Cradle Lake is a pretty normal site; June is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is October.
