    Beautiful Cottonwood Lakes has much to offer visitors. Yep, outdoors fun things to do are in fact bountiful here at Cottonwood Lakes. Lots of people from Missoula come to Cottonwood Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. There are some nice whitewater spots on Blackfoot River, and there is a delightful hiking trail nearby called the Dunham Trail. Morrell Mountain can be spotted from Cottonwood Lakes, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you  
   then, we recommend Flathead River - South Fork.
It is very dehydrated here at Cottonwood Lakes frequently; the wettest month of the year is frequently January, that's the one that snows the most; the driest of the months is July. So much fun stuff to do in the Lewis Range, not enough time. If the weather is great here at Cottonwood Lakes, you can go for a hike along the Blackfoot Divide Trail, and Salmon Lake Campground is a perfect campground nearby. For
 
               the period of the warmest time of the year at Cottonwood Lakes highs are generally in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Cottonwood Lakes dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights.
The Lewis Range scenery is always beautiful. On a splendid day at Cottonwood Lakes you can take a hike along the Pyramid Pass Trail, and Cottonwood Lakes is a fine spot to visit for more than one day, Russell Gates Memorial Campground is a fine spot to camp nearby.
