     For the duration of the summer highs here at Cosley Lake reach the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Cosley Lake dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. Don't leave Cosley Lake without first paying a visit to Gros Ventre Falls; getting to Kaina Creek from Cosley Lake is painless. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Lewis Range  
   rules! Cosley Lake is a glorious place to visit for more than one day, Avalanche Campground is a glorious place to camp nearby, and there is a delightful hiking trail close by called the Helen Lake Trail.
The amount of rain that falls at Cosley Lake is close to the national average; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow, and April on the other hand is the driest. If only every site had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a
 
               great world it would be. Near Cosley Lake you discover the North Fork Belly River Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail, and if you're here, you could also stop at scenic Kaina Lake. Cosley Lake is one of the lakes here in the Lewis Range.
Do have a look at Glenns Lake close to Cosley Lake, it's a lovely lake; some out of the ordinary geology is available here, Bear Mountain Point is right here. Now, you may think that's lots but there's even more amusing stuff to do here in the Lewis Range. The Cosley Lake Cutoff Trail is a wonderful hiking trail near Cosley Lake; Many Glacier Campground is a fine local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Do pay a visit to Glacier National Park while you're here at Cosley Lake, and one of the main traits of the surroundings of Cosley Lake is Bear Mountain.

Fabulously beautiful area, dense grizzly population and zero people.  Not too hard to get to crossing Flattop on bits of an obsolete trail from Fifty Mountain, then skirt along the open hills sides near Trapper Peak.  One scary steep hardpan ravine must be crossed where a slip would send you plunging 1000 feet down to Lake Nahsukin.  An axe would be helpful, otherwise just run real fast so your momentum will carry you to good footing on the far side....
