Cooney Reservoir is pretty arid mostly; May is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. Cooney Campground is a brilliant campground here, and Cooney Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out. If you love the outdoors, you'll fancy Cooney Reservoir. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Red Lodge Mountain is close to Cooney Reservoir; swing by Cottonwood Coulee it's a splendid place       to stop by. Super 8 Motel - Columbus is a pleasant spot to get some rest, and in case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rosebud Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Cooney Reservoir, and Cooney Reservoir is a great spot to camp, Itch-Kep-Pe Park Campground is a great spot. At Cooney Reservoir during the summer months highs are in the 80's.                  During the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. Highs through the winter are regularly in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Cooney Reservoir.
