Summer at Companion Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 30's. Through the winter highs are typically in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Companion Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Clarks Fork Yellowstone is so much fun, and Companion Lake is a brilliant location to camp, Soda Butte Campground is a brilliant location. This lake is one of the great places       here in the Absaroka Range. Yeah, come up here to the Absaroka Range for a splendid time. Astral Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore, and there's great hiking along the Republic Trail. The yearly rain here at Companion Lake is about average; June is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is October. Be careful coming to the Absaroka Range, you might not ever want to go home again. The North Crandall Trail offers hiking at                  its best; get dripping wet paddling on Stillwater River. Yep, outdoors entertaining things to do are truly abundant here at Companion Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Companion Lake; Pilot Creek Trail is a nice local trail; what would a place like Companion Lake be without out of the ordinary nearby highlights like Alp Rock. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel Big Timber is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two, and Sheep Mountain is gorgeous and can be made out from here.
