This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is good here at Lake Columbine, you can go for a hike along the Poacher Trail, and Lake Columbine is great enough to spend more than a day at, Hells Canyon Campground is a great local campground. This lake is located in the wonderful Absaroka Range. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining       stuff near Lake Columbine. Columbine Creek is a magnificent local stream, unsurprisingly you could also stop at Rainbow Lakes while you're here; it's not far at all. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in the Absaroka Range will keep you coming back time and again. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Boulder River; Columbine Pass is absolutely a good place to explore. There's so much to do here at Lake Columbine that                  you need to camp here for a while, Hicks Park Campground is a great place for that, and hiking along the Buffalo Plateau Trail is glorious fun. Yeah, come up here to the Absaroka Range for a great time. A fine close by hotel is Super 8 Big Timber. The warmest time of the year at Lake Columbine arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while Lake Columbine nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's.
