There's great hiking along the Thunderer Cutoff Trail, and a perfect location is Columbine Pass. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Lake Columbine. A beautiful lake like Burnt Gulch Lake in close proximity to Lake Columbine is a delightful site to take a look at, and if you need a location to stay Super 8 Motel Big Timber is a perfect choice. This lake is so wonderful. The Poacher       Trail offers hiking at its best; there are some good whitewater spots on Boulder River. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Absaroka Range. Good hiking is available along the Buffalo Plateau Trail, and a good location to camp here at Lake Columbine is Hells Canyon Campground. The Absaroka Range scenery is always beautiful. You'll locate a stunning lake called Rainbow Lakes near Lake Columbine; naturally Columbine Creek is a charming stream that                  is worth visiting. All through the summertime months highs here at Lake Columbine reach the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's.
