At Colt Lake during the warm months highs are in the 80's while nighttime lows are ordinarily in the 40's. For the duration of the winter the highs are commonly in the 30's with temperatures at Colt Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. A lake close by is Rainy Lake, and a quick trip to Pierce Creek is beyond doubt a good idea. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Holland Falls       National Recreation Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Colt Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lindbergh Campground. From a rain point of view Colt Lake is a pretty common site; December is when you get the most snow here; July is the month with the least moisture. Going for a hike along the Smith Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and there are plenty of folks from Missoula here at Colt Lake. Have a                  perfect hiking adventure along the Foothills Trail. There's so much to do here at Colt Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Rainy Lake Campground is a nice location for that.
