A visit to Cold Lake is always a good idea. At Cold Lake through the warm months highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 30's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Cold Lake. Cold Lake is one of the lakes here in the Absaroka Range. An average amount of rain falls at Cold Lake; June is the month that gets the most rain; the driest of the months is October.

| | is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Rosebud Creek - West; there is a fine hiking trail nearby called the Crazy Lakes Trail. There's so much to do here at Cold Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Chief Joseph Campground is a tremendous site for that, and if you come at the right time of year, Clarks Fork Yellowstone offers some perfect whitewater. If only every place had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great planet it would be. | |

Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Avalanche Lake; a quick tour to Huckleberry Creek is unquestionably a great idea.
Now, you may think that's lots but there's even more amusing stuff to do
here in the Absaroka Range. On a great day at Cold Lake you can take a hike along the Lake Reno Trail, and the top of Beartooth Mountains is easily made out from Cold Lake. And if that's not enough there's plenty more entertaining
things to do in the Absaroka Range. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Cold Lake has to offer, you can camp at Emerald Lake Campground; since you're here you can take a hike along the Crazy Mountain Trail. The region
where Cold Lake is, is dominated by the Beartooth Mountains, and don't leave Cold Lake without first checking out Granite Glacier.
This lake is so wonderful. Super 8 Motel Big Timber is a fine site to get some rest.
