Chrome Lake is one of the lakes here in the Absaroka Range. Summer at Chrome Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 30's while Chrome Lake nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel Big Timber is a great choice, and a visit       to The Golf Course revives the spirit. There is a good hiking trail in the vicinity of Chrome Lake called the Black Butte Trail, and if you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Stillwater River. This lake is so wonderful. There are tremendous places to discover along the Bozeman Trail, and you can distinguish Black Butte from Chrome Lake. You clearly should like Chrome Lake. There's so much to do here at Chrome Lake that                  you need to camp here for a while, Woodbine Campground is a fine place for that. Chrome Lake is usually a reasonably arid spot; most of the rain falls all through May; the driest of the months is February. And that's not everything you can do here in the Absaroka Range.
