A pleasant nearby hotel is Budget Inn Express, and close by you stumble on the Bear Gulch Trail which is a good hiking trail. Chessman Reservoir is pretty arid usually; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Spruce Hills is a peak you can catch a glimpse of from Chessman Reservoir, and there is a       nice hiking trail close by called the Sweeney Creek Ecology Trail. Black Hall Meadows is a brilliant location, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Mount Helena National Recreation Trail. You're probably interested in lakes, Chessman Reservoir is one of those nearby, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from close by Helena. Very stunning scenery and delightful skiing is what you get at Great Divide, and Best Western Helena                  Great Northern Hotel is a good location to get some rest. If only every spot had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great globe it would be. Tenmile Campground is a fine campground here, and Chessman Saddle Dam is not far at all from Chessman Reservoir. Camping at Chessman Reservoir is delightful fun, Park Lake Campground is a delightful local campground; in the event that you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Boulder River. For the duration of the summer months at Chessman Reservoir temperatures are commonly in the 80's while overnight lows are regularly in the 40's.
