If the weather is pretty, you obtain a glorious panorama of Spruce Hills from Chessman Reservoir, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Helena Great Northern Hotel is a glorious location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. A visit to Black Hall Meadows revives the soul; the snow is great at Great Divide. Have a fine hiking adventure along the Mount Helena National Recreation Trail; if you're popping       by from Helena, you won't be the only one. Boulder River is a splendid whitewater spot near Chessman Reservoir. Not much rain falls here at Chessman Reservoir; the month with most of the rain is May; the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Quartz Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and there's some interesting stuff to see at Chessman Saddle Dam close to Chessman Reservoir. High temperatures at Chessman Reservoir throughout                  the months of summer are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Chessman Reservoir. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors exciting things the area near Chessman Reservoir has to offer. While you're here at Chessman Reservoir you can take a hike along the Bear Gulch Trail, and if you came to camp Park Lake Campground is a great site to do that. While you're here at Chessman Reservoir, you could also go to pretty Park Lake, and going for a hike along the Sweeney Creek Ecology Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region.
