It is very dried out here at Cavity Lake ordinarily; May is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Stillwater River, and a cool spot to explore is Wolf Glacier. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Clarks Fork Yellowstone, and going for a hike on the Pilot Creek Trail is always a good adventure.       If you go for the outdoors you'll go for it here in the Absaroka Range. Soda Butte Campground is a good campground here. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things in the Absaroka Range. Go for a hike on the North Crandall Trail, and you can stay the night at Colter Campground. If you adore the outdoors, you'll fancy Cavity Lake. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel Big Timber is a great place to spend a night or two, and at Cavity                  Lake you can catch a glimpse of Courthouse Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. Near Cavity Lake you stumble on the Republic Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail, and as expected, this is a great area for people who like lakes, Glacier Green Lake is a lake around here. All through the warmest time of the year at Cavity Lake temperatures are generally in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 30's. During the winter the highs are frequently in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Cavity Lake.
