Cave Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. It is very dried up here at Cave Lake generally; the month with most of the rain is May; July is when it's the driest. So much fun stuff to do here in the Bitterroot Range, too pleasant to be true. You get a great panorama of North Trapper Peak from Cave Lake; Middle Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. This lake is so wonderful. The trees of Bitterroot National Forest are a good source of shade

This lake is one of the great places here in the Bitterroot Range. Now, you may believe that's lots but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Cave Lake. There is a good hiking trail near Cave Lake called the Trapper Peak Trail,
and if you're here, you could also take a look at pretty Gem Lake. All year is a glorious time in the Bitterroot Range if you have a thing about the outdoors. If you need a place to stay Best Western Hamilton Inn is a great choice;
a good close by hotel is Townhouse Inn of Hamilton. If you came for an overnight stay Boulder Creek Campground is a brilliant location to camp, and going for a hike on the Lookout Mountain Trail is always a pleasant adventure.

Tag Alder Lake
 | 18 miles away I venture up to Tag Alder every year. It is getting more and more difficult to get up there because of the new growth of trees from the fires of 2000. Once there it is beautiful lake. Another half hour hike up and you will be at the summit of the mountain. There is a nice camp area on North shore. Fishing is best in late spring using small spinners or powerbait.... |
