Man, is there a heap of amusing things to do in the Absaroka Range. If you come at the right time of year, Rosebud Creek - East offers some glorious whitewater. You clearly should adore the Absaroka Range. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Clarks Fork Yellowstone River, and wonderful hiking is available along       the Granite Loop Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Red Lodge Mountain is just what you need, and going for a hike on the Upper Granite Loop Trail is always a delightful adventure. If you get bored of Castle Lake, you could also explore close by Alp Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Copeland Lake Trail. All the outdoors amusing stuff in close proximity to Castle Lake will keep you coming back over and over. Don't leave Castle Lake                  without first checking out Castle Rock Glacier, and Castle Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Beartooth Lake Campground is a magnificent local campground. Castle Lake is located in the Absaroka Range. Throughout the summertime months at Castle Lake highs are mostly in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 30's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's while Castle Lake nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's.
