     If you get bored of Carters Pond, you could also pop by nearby Crystal Lake, and The Calvert Hotel is a fine location to get some rest. For the period of the months of summer at Carters Pond highs are commonly in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. Highs through the winter are regularly in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Carters Pond. Judith River is a pleasant whitewater spot in the neighborhood  
   of Carters Pond. If you came to camp Kiwanis Club Campground is a tremendous place to do that, and Upper Carters Pond is a nearby lake that you could go to.
This lake is so wonderful. There's pleasant hiking along the Crystal Lake National Recreation Trail, and why not a little side trip to South Fork Burnette Creek. Upper Carter Pond Dam is a location that is near Carters Pond; after a long day outdoors Super 8 Lewistown is a splendid spot to spend a
 
               night or two. Not much precipitation falls here at Carters Pond; the wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. There's so much to do here at Carters Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Mountain Acres Mobile Home Park is a great place for that, and enjoy a round of golf at Judith Shadows Golf Course.

I go there every summer and love it make sure you go in the middle of summer since the water is pretty cold all year round and it is so high in the mountains. also hiking up to the ice caves is lots of fun but be prepared for a long day. bring a lunch and LOTS of water!...
