     Carlton Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Take a hike on the Sweeney Ridge Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Lolo-Days Inn Missoula South/Blue Mountain. Carlton Lake is one of the lakes here in the Bitterroot Range. It is very dehydrated here at Carlton Lake usually; throughout May this area sees the most rain, and October meanwhile is the driest month.
Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Kootenai Creek,
 
   and if you need a spot to stay Missoula-Days Inn is a pleasant choice. You absolutely must have a thing about the Bitterroot Range. A lake nearby is Little Carlton Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Carlton Lake Trail, and the peak of Lolo Peak can be distinguished from Carlton Lake.
These mountains rock, just explore all the enjoyable stuff to do in the Bitterroot Range. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Carlton
 
               Lake; Mill Creek Trail is a tremendous local trail, and camping is available at Fort Fizzle Campground. Why not camp at Square Dance Center and Campground since you're here at Carlton Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Mill Creek offers some brilliant whitewater. All through the months of summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Carlton Lake; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Carlton Lake tend to be in the 10's.
