Carlton Lake is located in the Bitterroot Range. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart pumping on the magnificent whitewater of Mill Creek, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Carlton Lake       Trail. What a place this is for outdoors people. A good nearby hotel is Lolo-Days Inn Missoula South/Blue Mountain, and if you came for an overnight stay Fort Fizzle Campground is a glorious spot to camp. Carlton Lake is a location that is relatively arid commonly; during May this area sees the most rain, and October is the month with the least moisture. During the summer months at Carlton Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's while night lows are                  usually in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and night lows in the 10's for Carlton Lake. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! The Bitterroot Range is unbeatable! The top of Lolo Peak is easily seen from Carlton Lake; you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Mill Creek Trail.
