Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Canyon Ferry Lake. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Canyon Ferry Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Vigilante National Recreation Trail; why not explore Canyon Ferry Dam while you're here.       Canyon Ferry Lake is a location that is relatively dehydrated typically; May is the wettest month with most rain; the driest of the months is February. So much enjoyable stuff to do here at Canyon Ferry Lake, too good to be true. If you need a spot to stay Elkhorn Mountain Inn is a nice choice; there are other places here than Canyon Ferry Lake, for example Helena Valley Regulating Reservoir. Why not go to Cave Bay also if you're here, and don't leave Canyon                  Ferry Lake without first going for a hike along the Hanging Valley National Recreation Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Red Lion Colonial Hotel is a good spot to get some rest; camping at Ponderosa Campground is always a great experience.
