During the summer months highs here at Canyon Ferry Lake reach the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Canyon Ferry Lake are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. A perfect close by hotel is Elkhorn Mountain Inn; do visit Helena Valley Reservoir, it's a pretty lake. Chinaman Cove Campground is a great campground       nearby, and if you're here, you might as well explore Cave Gulch. Ponderosa Campground is a splendid local campground, and on a wonderful day you obtain a splendid sight of Cemetery Hill from Canyon Ferry Lake. And if that's not enough, there's lots more to do near Canyon Ferry Lake. A scenic lake like Helena Valley Regulating Reservoir near Canyon Ferry Lake is a brilliant spot to go to, and taking a little spree to nearby Cave Bay is a great idea. Red Lion                  Colonial Hotel is a perfect place to get some rest, and Canyon Ferry Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out. Hiking along the Hanging Valley National Recreation Trail is nice fun; Canyon Ferry Lake is right by the Vigilante National Recreation Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
