This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Vigilante National Recreation Trail is nice fun, and after a long day outdoors Elkhorn Mountain Inn is a splendid location to spend a night or two. Cannon Lake is located in the Big Belt Mountains. Not much rain falls here at Cannon Lake; the wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most, and February meanwhile is the driest month.       There's so much to do here at Cannon Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Pike Gulch Campground is a magnificent site for that, and do take a hike on the Hanging Valley National Recreation Trail. Throughout the summer at Cannon Lake highs are usually in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and night lows at Cannon Lake throughout the winter ordinarily plunge into the                  10's. All the outdoors fun stuff in the Big Belt Mountains will keep you coming back time and again.
