Buck Lake is a nice lake to visit. Buck Lake is pretty waterless typically; most of the rain falls during May, and the driest month is February. Summertime highs at Buck Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 30's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Buck Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Hamilton Inn

| | is a good place to get some rest, and you can stay the night at Martin Creek Campground. There's some flowing water nearby, Carmine Creek is a stream you can visit while here, and you can go for a hike on the Hi Line Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Buck Lake has to offer, you can camp at Mussigbrod Campground; don't leave Buck Lake without first going for a hike along the Big Hole National Recreation Trail.
