If the weather is great here at Brown Lake, you can go for a hike along the Republic Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Brown Lake has to offer, you can camp at Colter Campground. Brown Lake is a beautiful lake in the Absaroka Range. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Brown Lake is a perfect location to camp, Woodbine Campground is       a perfect location. This lake is so wonderful. The Pilot Creek Trail is a great hiking trail near Brown Lake; whitewater paddling is fine on Stillwater River. These mountains rock, just look at all the fun stuff to do in the Absaroka Range. Get wet paddling on Clarks Fork Yellowstone, and if you need a location to stay Super 8 Motel Big Timber is a magnificent choice. Lakes? Sure, Beckwourth Lake is close by, and nearby you hit upon the Crazy Lakes Trail which                  is a wonderful hiking trail. Around Brown Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. At Brown Lake through the months of summer highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 30's.
