It's always fun to stop by Bowback Lake. Going for a hike on the Beartooth Highlakes Trail is always a brilliant adventure, and there's whitewater on Rosebud Creek - East for all you adrenaline rush seekers. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Rosebud Creek - West next to Bowback Lake, and Jimmy Joe Campground is a great campground here. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! The Absaroka Range is so good! While you're here at Bowback

From a rain point of view Bowback Lake is a pretty normal location; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is October. Now, you may think that's loads but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Absaroka Range.
