There's so much to do here at Black Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cedar Campground is a fine place for that, and on a nice day you can take a hike along the Foothills Trail. For the period of the summertime months highs here at Black Lake reach the 70's. Once       the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. During the winter highs are generally in the 20's with temperatures at Black Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Upper Jocko Lake, and if you're dropping by from Missoula, you won't be the only one. So much cool stuff right next door to Black Lake, clearly impressive. You could also take a look at Lower Jocko Lake while you're here at Black Lake; it's                  close by, and everybody nearby loves skiing at Marshall Mountain. If the weather is great here at Black Lake, you can go for a hike along the Holland Falls National Recreation Trail; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Jocko Creek. Not far from Black Lake you get some perfect water scenery at Black Lake Dam, and hey, Gotta ski right? Montana Snowbowl is a nice location to do that. Black Lake gets a common amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is usually January, that's the one that snows the most while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
