In Montana there are many beautiful lakes, Black Canyon Lake is one of them. One of the overriding traits of the surroundings of Black Canyon Lake is Mount Rearguard; after a long day outdoors Lupine Inn Red Lodge is a great location to spend a night or two. So much fun stuff to do here in the Absaroka Range, too great to be true. A fine location for whitewater paddling close to Black Canyon Lake is Clarks Fork Yellowstone River; there are other spots here than

This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Bots Sots Campground is a pleasant site to do that, and you can go for a hike on the Beartooth Highlakes Trail. There's so much to do here at Black Canyon Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Buena Vista Campground is a wonderful spot for that; don't leave Black Canyon Lake without first going for a hike along the Beauty Lake | |

All year is a great time in the Absaroka Range if you love the outdoors. Beartooth Glacier is something you shouldn't miss if you're here at Black Canyon Lake,
and there's brilliant hiking along the Beartooth Loop National Recreation Trail. And that's not all you can do here at Black Canyon Lake. Everybody close by loves skiing at Red Lodge Mountain; you can run the rapids of Rosebud Creek
- East. From a rain point of view Black Canyon Lake is a rather common spot; the wettest month of the year is mostly June, that's the one that rains the most while October is typically the driest month.

time of the year at Black Canyon Lake temperatures are usually in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 30's. During the winter highs are commonly in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Black Canyon Lake.
