Go to Birch Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Birch Lake is a beautiful lake in the Lewis Range. This lake is so wonderful. A good close by hotel is Glacier Park Super 8 Motel, and you can go for a hike on the Aeneas Creek Trail. Summertime at Birch Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are ordinarily in the 20's; night lows in the 10's for Birch Lake. This lake is so

Columbia Mountain Trail
 | 14 miles away It is a really easy climb! I think your dog also can walk. Succes....I have hiked this trail in summer with little work. However, I Tried it in march-09 and found it very difficult for several reasons. The snow was only 1 of many things....It is a pretty substantial hike for most. There is a 4000+ ft elevation gain to the top with a long flatish section midway. It is occasionally used by dirt bikes, but I've only ever seen one on the trail. Great views of the valley and the peaks of Glacier National Park....Not grueling at all. A very easy hike.Also not a peaceful walk.... |
