Fox Creek Campground is a nice campground nearby; do take a hike on the Lake Reno Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Absaroka Range. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Clarks Fork       Yellowstone, and Big Moose Lake is right by the Crazy Mountain Trail. If only every place had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great globe it would be. Take a side trip to Hemingway Creek, and the Crazy Lakes Trail offers hiking at its best. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff in the Absaroka Range will keep you coming back again and again. Hit the slopes at Red Lodge Mountain close at hand. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's                  to Big Moose Lake. Summer night lows drop down to the 30's. For the period of the winter the highs are usually in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Big Moose Lake temperatures fall to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart pumping on the glorious whitewater of Clarks Fork Yellowstone River, and if you're here, you could also take a look at lovely Ivy Lake. Big Moose Lake is a good site of common precipitation; through June this area sees the most rain; October on the other hand is the driest.
