Camping at Cedar Campground is always a good experience, and there are some fine whitewater spots on Mill Creek. Man, is there plenty of entertaining things to do near Big Lake. Little Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by, and Marshall Mountain has great slopes and a friendly staff. Big Lake is typically a reasonably dehydrated place; the wettest month of the year is usually June,       that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is February. A good nearby hotel is Hubbards Ponderosa Lodge; don't leave Big Lake without first going for a hike along the BLue Mountain Nature Trail NRT. High temperatures at Big Lake through the summer are in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Big Lake. This lake is                  so wonderful. Really perfect skiing awaits you at Montana Snowbowl; Mosquito Peak is painless to spot from Big Lake. You'll meet a lot of people from Missoula here, and do stop by Little Lake Dam while you're here. This lake is so wonderful.
