This lake is one of the great places here in the Lewis Range. Going for a hike on the Holland Falls National Recreation Trail is always a great adventure; dry warm beds await you at Bridge Street Cottages. Doctor Lake is a great lake near Big Knife Lakes, and you can stay the night at Lake Inez Campground. Having a great time in the Lewis Range is uncomplicated. If you come at the right time of year, Flathead       River - South Fork offers some good whitewater, and the Holland Gordon Trail is a great hiking trail nearby. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Near Big Knife Lakes you hit upon the Morrell Falls National Recreation Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail, and there are other locations here than Big Knife Lakes, for example Lena Lake. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Lewis Range. Summertime highs at Big Knife Lakes regularly tend                  to be in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's.
