In Montana there are many beautiful lakes, Big Hawk Lake is one of them. This lake is so wonderful. There are brilliant places to explore along the Peterson Creek Trail, and Big Hawk Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Handkerchief Lake Campground is a tremendous local campground. Going for a hike on the Aeneas Creek Trail is always a perfect adventure, and dry warm beds await you at Bridge Street Cottages. A lake close by is Pilgrim Lakes;

| | don't leave Big Hawk Lake without first going for a hike along the Pioneer Ridge Trail.
All through the warmest time of the year at Big Hawk Lake highs are generally in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Big Hawk Lake are in the 10's. This lake is located in the wonderful Lewis Range. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in the Lewis Range will keep you coming back again and again. You get a great vista of Big Hawk
Mountain from Big Hawk Lake, and Swan River has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby. From a rainfall point of view Big Hawk Lake is a pretty typical spot; November is the month that gets the most rain, and July on the other hand
is the driest. Yeah, come up here to the Lewis Range for a pleasant time. Whitewater paddling is nice on Flathead River - Middle Fork.
