There's great hiking along the Sally Ridge Trail, and South Fork Big Creek is in the vicinity of Big Creek Lakes and is always a delight to explore. The annual rainfall here at Big Creek Lakes is about average; January is the month that gets the most snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Big Creek Lakes is a wonderful place to visit for more than one day, Blodgett Canyon       Campground is a wonderful place to camp nearby, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Big Creek Lakes; Sweeney Ridge Trail is a good local trail. Super 8 Motel - Hamilton is a tremendous place to get some rest. The Bitterroot Range scenery is always beautiful. Whitewater paddling is glorious on White Sand Creek, and if you've had enough of Big Creek Lakes, Big Creek Lake is close by. All the outdoors fun stuff in the Bitterroot Range will keep you                  coming back over and over. You get a pleasant sight of Old Stormy from Big Creek Lakes, and Big Creek Lake Dam is an exciting thing to check out. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff right next door to Big Creek Lakes.
