When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Big Creek Lake temperatures descend to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Blodgett Canyon Campground while you're here at Big Creek Lake, and a great close by hotel is Townhouse Inn of Hamilton. Big Creek Lake is a beautiful lake in the       Bitterroot Range. You believe that's enough? Just getting warmed up. A lake close by is Big Creek Lakes; going for a hike on the Sally Ridge Trail is always a nice adventure. White Sand Creek is a great whitewater spot next to Big Creek Lake, and there are glorious locations to explore along the Sweeney Ridge Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Bitterroot Range. Why not stop at Big Creek Lake Dam if you're here, and as expected, A journey to Stormy                  Pass is always fun. This lake is so wonderful. Near Big Creek Lake you stumble on the Saint Mary Peak Trail which is a delightful hiking trail, and Big Creek Lake is not the only site nearby, Pearl Lake is a nearby lake. From a precipitation point of view Big Creek Lake is a reasonably common site; the month with most of the snow is January; the driest month of the year is July. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Bitterroot Range. If you need a spot to stay Super 8 Motel - Hamilton is a good choice, and there's some flowing water nearby, South Fork Big Creek is a stream you can pop by while you're here.
