At Axolotl Lake through the long summer days highs are in the 80's with night lows in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; overnight lows all through the winter for Axolotl Lake tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Camper Corner is a splendid       site to camp, and at South Axolotl Lake Dam in the vicinity of Axolotl Lake there are some exciting things to see. Lakes are great; Reservoir Lake is a lake that's close to Axolotl Lake; going for a hike on the Pedro Trail is always a nice adventure. Axolotl Lake is pretty dried up mostly; most of the rain falls through June, and February is when it's the driest. Camping is available at Clover Meadows Campground, and there is a nice hiking trail nearby called                  the Hyde Creek Trail.
