Go to Axolotl Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. For the period of the summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Axolotl Lake. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. Highs through the winter are typically in the 30's while Axolotl Lake nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. | | good skiing awaits you at Moonlight Basin. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Madison River offers some splendid whitewater, and places like Potamogeton Park are brilliant to check out. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - West Yellowstone, and if you came for an overnight stay Beaver Creek Campground 2 is a great place to camp. Lake is in the vicinity. At Axolotl Lake you don’t see much rainfall; June is when you get the most rain here while January is typically the driest month. Glide down the rapids of Madison River in a kayak; perfect hiking is available
along the Wapiti Creek Trail. Going for a hike on the Cutoff Trail is always a great adventure; there are other sites here than Axolotl Lake, for example Meadow Lake. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. Visit Cub
Creek if you're here at Axolotl Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Kirkwood Trail. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll go for Axolotl Lake. Boat Mountain is clearly visible from Axolotl Lake, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Big Sky.
