| | Campground is a pleasant place to do that; skiing at Big Sky is one of those things you just have to do. And that's not all you can do here at Avalanche Lake. Avalanche Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Beaver Creek Campground 1 is a glorious local campground, and do take a hike on the Cutoff Trail. You're most likely addicted to lakes, Triple Lakes is one of those close by, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Lightning Creek Trail. | |

High temperatures at Avalanche Lake through the months of summer are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's; night lows in the 10's
for Avalanche Lake. Avalanche Lake is a location that is rather dried up ordinarily; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is January. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Avalanche Lake you can see Hilgard Peak, and Madison River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby.
