There are perfect places to explore along the North Crandall Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Colter Campground is a splendid place to camp. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Pilot Creek Trail is always a good adventure, and why not a little side tour to Sky Top Creek. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Astral Lake. If you       come at the right time of year, Clarks Fork Yellowstone offers some magnificent whitewater, and Soda Butte Campground is a glorious campground here. The summit of Mount Zimmer can be observed from Astral Lake, and Bob Lake is a nice lake nearby. Summer at Astral Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 30's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here                  at Astral Lake. All the outdoors amusing things in the Absaroka Range will keep you coming back many times. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Stillwater River, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel Big Timber is a brilliant location to spend a night or two. From a rain point of view Astral Lake is a rather normal place; June is the wettest month with most rain, and October meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is one of the great places here in the Absaroka Range. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Absaroka Range.
