The beauty of Lake Aries is reason enough to stop by. Through the warm days of summer, highs typically are in the 80's at Lake Aries, and the night is a tad chillier of course, usually in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Lake Aries. Lake Aries is a beautiful lake in the Absaroka Range. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Absaroka Range. The peak of Courthouse Mountain can be distinguished

| | from Lake Aries, and you can stay the night at Colter Campground.
This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Pilot Creek Trail, and Soda Butte Campground is a great campground here. If you get bored of Lake Aries, you could also visit close by Anvil Lake, and if you need a site to stay Cooke City Sinclair & Cabins is a great choice. Whitewater paddling is nice on Stillwater River; you can have a nice hiking adventure along the Thunderer Cutoff Trail.

Yep, outdoors fun stuff truly is plentiful here in the Absaroka Range. Lake Aries is right by the Republic Trail. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Lake Aries. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting drenched,
you can always go whitewater paddling on Clarks Fork Yellowstone; dry warm beds await you at Alpine Motel. Lake Aries gets very little rainfall; most of the rain falls during May; the driest month is February.
