If you are in Park county it's always a good idea to stop by Lake Aries. If you came to camp Soda Butte Campground is a great spot to do that; here at Lake Aries you can distinguish Courthouse Mountain. Drift down the rapids of Stillwater River in a kayak, and there are other locations here than Lake Aries, for example Spider Lake. At Lake Aries you don’t see much precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is February.

is plenty of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Absaroka Range has it all. Paddling on Clarks Fork Yellowstone is so much fun; going for a hike on the Pilot Creek Trail is always a fine adventure. This lake is so wonderful.
Lake Aries is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Colter Campground is a fine local campground, and nearby you hit upon the Republic Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. All through the long summer days highs here at Lake
Aries get into the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Lake Aries.
