At Anvil Lake you don’t see much rainfall; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain while February is mostly the driest month. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Clarks Fork Yellowstone, and Anvil Lake is not the only spot close by, Beauty Lake is a close by lake. Get covered with water paddling on Stillwater River, and the vista of lovely Fisher Mountain is splendid. So much fun stuff to do at Anvil Lake, so       little time. Anvil Lake is in close proximity to Lulu Pass which is without doubt worth taking a look at; the Republic Trail is a glorious hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Anvil Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Soda Butte Campground is a fine local campground, and going for a hike on the Thunderer Cutoff Trail is always a great adventure. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors cool stuff                  the Absaroka Range has to offer. A splendid place to camp here at Anvil Lake is Colter Campground, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel Big Timber. Summertime highs at Anvil Lake mostly tend to be in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are regularly in the 30's while Anvil Lake night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 10's. This lake is located in the wonderful Absaroka Range. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! The Absaroka Range rules!
