Anvil Lake is a location that is reasonably dried up commonly; through May this area sees the most rain while February is typically the driest month. A great location for whitewater paddling right next door to Anvil Lake is Stillwater River, and you can go for a hike on the Thunderer Cutoff Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Clarks       Fork Yellowstone near Anvil Lake. Lakes are splendid; Dick Lake is a lake that's in close proximity to Anvil Lake. Going for a hike on the Pilot Creek Trail is always a fine adventure; as expected, this is a great vicinity for people who like lakes, Star Dust Lake is a lake in close proximity. Anvil Lake is located in the Absaroka Range. So much fun stuff in the Absaroka Range, just fantastic. Camping is available at Colter Campground, and Lulu Pass is nearby,                  and is a nice place. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Anvil Lake. A perfect site to camp here at Anvil Lake is Soda Butte Campground, and here at Anvil Lake you can see Fisher Mountain. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the Absaroka Range. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel Big Timber is a good choice, and there is a wonderful hiking trail nearby called the Republic Trail. Through the long summer days here at Anvil Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's.
