Crazy Mountain is pretty and can be spotted from Anvil Lake, and if you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River. Now, you may believe that's heaps but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Absaroka Range. Do go to Shrew Lake in the vicinity       of Anvil Lake, it's a striking lake. Anvil Lake gets a normal amount of rainfall; most of the rain falls during June, and October is the month with the least moisture. Have a fine hiking adventure along the Copeland Lake Trail, and Red Lodge Mountain has good slopes and a friendly staff. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Anvil Lake, and the nighttime is quite chillier of course, ordinarily in the 30's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in                  the 20's, and nighttime lows at Anvil Lake during the winter commonly descend into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Anvil Lake you can take a hike along the Crazy Mountain Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Anvil Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lake Creek Campground. Clarks Fork Yellowstone has a good whitewater paddling spot close by. There's so much to do here at Anvil Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Crazy Creek Campground is a good place for that. The Absaroka Range scenery is always beautiful. Just can't get enough of Anvil Lake.
